Driving to Canada Requirements
The IRCC created a checklist to help you plan and prepare crossing the border into Canada.
- Check the provincial or territory restrictions
- Create a quarantine plan for once you’re in Canada
- Get your negative COVID-19 test
- Register in advance for your arrival test
- Download and use the ArriveCAN app and upload your quarantine plan
Arriving to Canada at a Land Border Entry Point
- Have your ArriveCAN receipt, negative test result, and quarantine plan ready.
- Take a test on arrival
- Go directly to your place of quarantine that is listed on your quarantine plan.
Flying to Canada Requirements

- Get your negative COVID-19 test

Before Boarding Your Flight to Canada
- Have your ArriveCAN receipt and pre-entry test results ready to provide to the airline.
- Check the requirements for boarding a flight to Canada.
Arriving in Canada after Flight
- Have your ArriveCAN receipt, negative test result, hotel reservation, and quarantine plan ready.
- Take a test when you arrive
- Go directly to your hotel reservation for 3-nights.
