British Columbia will introduce three new BCPNP immigration pathways in January 2025 for international students who recently graduated from the province. These pathways will be available to graduates with bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degrees. These new programs aim to help foreign students stay in Canada and find jobs.
To be considered an international graduate for this program, you must have completed your degree, diploma, or certificate at a qualified British Columbia school within the past three years.
New BCPNP Program Details
The province has shared some initial details about these new programs:
- Launch date: January 2025
- Language requirement: Applicants must meet a certain English or French language level (CLB 8).
- Diploma and certificate holders: These programs are for graduates with degrees, not diplomas or certificates.

What Are the New BCPNP Streams?
Bachelor’s Stream
Recent graduates with a bachelor’s degree from a qualified British Columbia university can apply for this stream. To be eligible, you must have a full-time job offer with no end date.
Master’s Stream
Recent graduates with a master’s degree from a qualified British Columbia university can apply. You must have a full-time job offer that lasts at least a year in a skilled occupation.
Doctorate Stream
For recent PhD graduates or current PhD students of doctoral level programs from eligible British Columbia post-secondary universities.
Important Details to Consider
Job Offers
No occupation limits: There won’t be a specific list of jobs that qualify for these new programs. However, you’ll still need a job offer to apply.
Programs of Study
Any field can apply. Graduates from any field of study can be eligible for these programs, as long as they meet the other requirements.
Competition
Separate pools. Applicants will be grouped based on their degree level (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate). This means you’ll only compete with people who have the same level of education.
