The Gang Of 8 And United States Immigration Reform

By Michael Niren April 20, 2013 1 min. read

A group of eight United States senators have revealed their immigration reform bill, which weighs in at 800 pages. The immigration reform bill is a “fair, comprehensive and practical solution” by the eight senators, a bipartisan group that includes former presidential candidate Senator John McCain. United States Immigration reform

What’s in the new United States immigration reform bill?

In the new immigration reform bill are calls for an expanded visa program, a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants who are already in the country (that is achievable, but difficult), safeguards against hiring illegal immigrants and huge spending for border security.

The current family and employment visa systems are going to be revamped, while there will be two more streams introduced. In addition, the immigration court system will be reformed, there will be additional worker protections, E-Verify, a program that safeguards against hiring illegal immigrants, will be mandatory and non-immigrant visa programs will be reformed in a manner where there will be options to apply for permanent residence.

The bill is expected to be extremely expensive, with $3 billion allocated to customs and border patrol officers and border surveillance, with $1.5 billion to the southern border fence. These things would be paid for from fines and fees levied in immigrants as they apply for citizenship.

Visa place helped me with my daughter’s sponsorship 3 years ago. Last week I contacted them for some clarification on a different matter. It was about an issue which technically was a problem of CIC’s software glitch and had nothing to do with Visa Place.
Yet Reena Sandu was assigned for my case. she helped me with enthusiasm and showed no hesitation despite me being an ex-client from 3 years ago.
I was very happy that even after 3 years of finishing business, Visa Place were respectful of their clients. Special thanks again to Reena for her enthusiasm and support.
