Additional information about this Canadian Embassy in South Africa:
The Canadian Embassy in South Africa is also responsible for immigration and visitor visa applications to Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

In the 2006 Canadian census, about 10,000 people were identified as recent immigrants from South Africa and approximately 6% of Canada’s African community identifies as South African. However this number may actually be larger, as half of Canada’s African population simply identifies as “African”.

Should You Contact a Lawyer First…?

It is important to remember that when applying for Canadian Immigration, you are required to submit your application to the Canadian Embassy of your nationality. However, there are some exceptions to this rule. You should always contact an immigration lawyer to assist you with the procedures associated with the Canadian Embassy of your region because the Canadian Embassy in South Africa may have its own set of special rules and procedures.

    Good morning,
I am currently a post graduate student at Monash University SA. However I have received an offer letter from a Canadian school and would like to transfer during the winter semester in December/January.
First problem – I am on a study permit in SA as I am Nigerian.
Second problem – I am unable to go back home to process my visa as I have to finish the semester here.
My question is can I apply for a Canadian study permit while I am in SA as a foreigner?
    Thank you

Hi could you give any indication how long the processing time is for an Authorization to Return to Canada? I omitted to get a departure document when I left in 2008, consequently a Departure Order was put out for me, which I was unaware of. I sent two letters of explanation with my tourist visa application, and gave all the reasons and documentation why I must and will come back to RSA (family, property, business, lecturing appointment, etc). I have already spent R25,000 to buy airplane tickets, now I’m on the brink of having to pay about R100,000 for travel and accommodation, and the Rand is dropping daily, without any idea when I will have a decision on my application. Should I just give up – my flights are booked for 09 May 2017.

    Hi,
I live in South Africa but have both British and South African passports.
I have been selected for an inter-company transfer to work in Canada and would ideally like to use my British passport as apparently the temporary work visa can be applied for on arrival.
However, someone has suggested I may not be able to do this as I am also a South African citizen. Is this true in any way?
    Thanks!

      Hi Cameron,
Thank you for your inquiry! I can completely understand how this can be very frustrating for you. The process for obtaining a Canadian work visa can be very complicated and troubling to do on your own. The number one reason for applications being denied is because the application was filed incorrect or incomplete. Hiring an immigration lawyer would eliminate these possible mistakes and help answer all of your questions for a Canadian work visa. Please, complete this form for me http://www.visaplace.com/immigration-assessment/ it is just a quick and easy way for me to learn more details about you and your situation so that I will be able to advise you accurately and determine the best avenue for us to take to get you Express Entry status here in Canada.

Hi,my name is Lawrence,I would like to immigrate to Canada with my family due to trauma experienced on regular basis as far as crime is concerned,I have learned that Canada is one of the safest countries in the world and cant bear the reality of fear everytime we leave our home and even in our home. Please advise me because there are lot of scams that I have heard about and rather deal with Canadian Embassy directly to avoid these scams because money is involved. Thanks

Thank you for your inquiry. I am sorry to hear about any hardship that you and your family are experiencing. Canada is one of the safest places to live, and I would encourage anyone facing situations where they feel their basic human right is violated to immigrate here. I would be more than happy to assess your eligibility and advise you on your options…but in order for me to do so, I must first learn more details about you. Hello Niel

Thank you for the question. Where did you do this eligibility test? I do not trust them to be honest. We can perform an assessment to see if you do in fact qualify. If you do we or another immigration law firm can help.

      Hello Brice

You can apply for a visitor visa at the Canadian Embassy but they would have to asses your case to see if they believe you will return back after your visit is finished in Canada.

      Hello Norman

We are immigration lawyers, not the Canadian government. You can contact the Embassy in Pretoria for details about how to deliver your TRV. Or you can get a lawyer to represent you.
