The Canadian Embassy in Kenya is also responsible for handling immigration applications from Burundi, Comoros, Congo (Brazzaville), Congo (Kinshasa), Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, French Southern Territories, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mayotte, Reunion, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Tanzania and Uganda and the Canadian Embassy in Kenya is also responsible for visitor visas from Burundi, Comoros, Congo (Brazzaville), Congo (Kinshasa), Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, French Southern Territories, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mayotte, Reunion, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Tanzania and Uganda.
There is a large Kenyan community in British Columbia and Kenya also has French language ties to Canada as a member of La Francophonie. As of 2006, the Kenyan population in Canada was about 22,000, a 4,000-person increase from the census data of 1996. Trade with Kenya currently amounts to tens of millions of dollars every year.
