Eligibility Criteria for Health Talent Stream (Non-Express Entry)
You must meet all of this criteria to be eligible for the Saskatchewan Health Talent Pathway:
Language Proficiency
Achieve a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score of at least 5 in English or French. Note that some employers and regulators may require even higher scores.
Work Experience
If applying from within Saskatchewan, you must have worked full-time (30+ hours per week) for at least six months (780 hours) in your current job with the supporting employer. If you haven’t worked for your employer for six months, you need at least one year of relevant work experience within the past 5 years.
Licensing
You must be eligible for Saskatchewan licensing, if applicable.
Education
Possess a post-secondary education relevant to your offered job, such as a Master’s, Bachelor’s, or three-year degree, or a two-year diploma.
Commitment to Saskatchewan
Express your intent to work and reside in Saskatchewan.
Job Offer
Have a confirmed offer for a permanent position, full-time health sector job in Saskatchewan. A valid SINP job approval letter is required as proof. Employers must register with the SINP to obtain this letter.
Eligibility Criteria for Health Talent Pathway (Express Entry)
Only individuals accepted into IRCC’s Express Entry pool are eligible to apply for this pathway. Express Entry applicants enjoy expedited processing with permanent residency typically granted within six months. To qualify for this sub-category, you must:
- Have a valid Express Entry Profile number and job seeker code.
- Achieve a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score of 7 or higher in English or French.
- Have at least one year of high-skilled related work experience within the past five years in your intended occupation.
- Be eligible for Saskatchewan licensing, if applicable.
- Possess a post-secondary education relevant to your offered job, such as a Master’s, Bachelor’s, or three-year degree, or a two-year diploma.
- Express your intent to work and reside in Saskatchewan
- Have a confirmed job offer for a permanent position, full-time health sector job in Saskatchewan. A valid SINP Job Approval Letter is required as proof. Employers must register with the SINP to obtain this letter.
Pathway Process for Saskatchewan Health Talent Stream
- Job Offer: Secure a job offer from a Saskatchewan health care employer.
- Assessment: Your qualifications will be assessed to ensure they meet Canadian standards.
- Work Permit Application: Submit an application for a work permit to work in Saskatchewan.
- Permanent Residency Application: After working in Saskatchewan for a specified period, you may be eligible to apply for permanent residency.

- Follow the exact guidelines for the application process (we recommend that you speak to an immigration lawyer to follow all guidelines correctly)
- Complete, scan, and submit all of the required documents
Note: Applications that are submitted with missing documents or not translated will be returned. If your application is returned, you will be sent a letter and asked to resubmit your application with the correct documents.
Who Cannot Apply through the Health Talent Pathway
Reasons you will be ineligible to the Health Talent Pathway include:
Refugee Claimants
Individuals seeking refugee status in Canada cannot apply through this pathway.
Incomplete Applications
Applicants who did not submit all required documents will be ineligible to apply.
Lack of Saskatchewan Commitment
Those unable to demonstrate their intention to work and live in Saskatchewan will be deemed ineligible.
Misrepresentation
Applicants who have intentionally provided false information in their application will be disqualified.
