Immigration and Refugee Board hearing Postponed for US Actor
American actor Randy Quaid (Vegas Vacation, Christmas Vacation, Independence Day) has had his Immigration and Refugee Board hearing postponed for a third time after his lawyer asked for a delay because of all of the paperwork that still needed to be reviewed. Currently, it’s likely that the hearing won’t be until January, but there will be a pre-hearing at the end of December.
Both Randy Quaid and his wife Evi Quaid had fled to Canada after facing charges for vandalism and trespassing in the United States, and had claimed refugee status because of a mysterious conspiracy involving “star whackers”, who the Quaids allege have killed several well-known United States-based actors in recent years. The couple also failed to appear in a California court and by doing so forfeited a combined $1 million in bail.
As it turns out, Evi Quaid’s father is Canadian and she can claim Canadian Citizenship instead, so she has dropped her refugee claim.
