Criminal conviction could cause Lohan to be denied entry to Canada
According to several news reports, American actress Lindsay Lohan is scheduled to start filming an Elizabeth Taylor biopic in Canada this coming spring.
But there’s a problem: Lohan was convicted of a DUI in the United States, making her likely criminally inadmissible to Canada.
News sources also state that her probation isn’t finished until 2014, which means she would need to travel to Canada before “the period of deemed rehabilitation” – or five years after probation concludes, making her inadmissible to Canada until sometime in 2019.
Lohan would there have to apply for a Temporary Resident Permit in order to come to Canada.
This just goes to show that no matter who you are, you can still be denied entry to Canada. But, you do have options even if you are Lindsay Lohan!
