I am living and working UK ( originally from India) and used a services of immigration consultants in Toronto Ontario* for my canadian immigration services.
I paid them Retainership fees $1600 for submission of my application to Canadian immigration authority under Federal Skilled worker scheme in 2007.
They promised me initially that I will get my Residency in 18 to 20 months.
Despite waiting from 2007 to 2012, nothing had happened and recently they email me the change in Canadian govt rules and ask me to withdraw my application. I phoned them several times and ask for the refund of the Retainership fees paid to them as now they are not providing me other agreed services!
They declined and did not answer my phone / email and now they are saying they will not refund my money.
I wonder if you can guide me as to whether you can take up my case to put through to the appropriate authority and let me know your fees for doing the same.
I have already filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau and waiting for the outcome but when i came to know about your firm from Rip off report website , I thought to approach to you as well, due to distance between uk and Canada .

This happens all too often. You retain the services of an immigration consultant, they take you money, make false promises and do not provide the service.
It is very important that you do your research on the lawyer or immigration consultant before you hire them. Sometimes it is very hard to do and is very hard to get resolved.
All you can do is think about hiring another consultant or lawyer and move on.
