Canadian Embassy in Haiti still closed
A year after 2010 earthquake, Canadian Embassy still Closed
The Canadian Embassy in Haiti is still closed more than one year after the devastating 2010 earthquake that destroyed much of the country’s infrastructure and caused serious damage to the building that housed the Canadian Embassy. Many people in Canada are trying to get relatives over from Haiti for immigration reasons or even visits, as one lady quoted in the Montreal Gazette this week said that she was hoping to bring her mother up from Haiti for a visit because of the ongoing problems there, but it was difficult because of the lack of Canadian Embassy.
The Canadian Embassy in the Dominican Republic is currently handling all of the work of both Canadian Embassies. For contact information for that Canadian Embassy, click here
