How to Get TN Visa Renewals

TN Visa RenewalA TN Visa is a type of US work visa for Canadian Citizens who have a job offer in the US. Obtaining a TN Visa is a quick process – usually it can just be applied for at the border. But that does not mean that obtaining a TN Visa is easy. Your documentation and credentials have to be perfectly prepared, or you could be turned away at the border.

A TN Visa is good for three years, after which it must be renewed.

But just because you have already successfully obtained a TN Visa does not mean you will be issued another one when it is time to renew a TN Visa. Your initial TN Visa must be valid – and you need to understand that your application must be easy to process for the immigration officer who processes your application. Because your application’s success depends on this officer’s decision, it’s important that:

  • Your TN Visa application is valid.
  • Your paperwork, including your Employer letter and your resume, are clearly written and well-structured so your immigration officer can easily determine whether you are qualified for the job or not.
  • You are thoroughly prepared for your TN Visa interview.
  • You are able to prove that you only intend to stay in the United States temporarily.

If you have questions about your upcoming TN Visa renewal, it’s important that you contact us to ensure you have the best chances of success with your TN Visa renewal application and don’t get turned down at the border – contact us using the form on the right!
