I submitted an electronic application for permanent residence in March from Nigeria. I got a letter in MyCic saying that I don’t meet the financial requirements. But I submitted proof of funds in excess of the requirements. No reason was given. I was asked to submit additional documents within 30 days but no provision was made in MyCic profile to upload the document. How and where should I send the document to? I’m not sure if it’s to Accra office or an office in Canada. Also, will it be via courier or email? Please help! Thanks a lot.

If you want to continue the process on your own, you should contact the office that you have been dealing with to see what is the best way for them to receive what they have asked for. When we work with a case, all of our documents are handled electronically.

I have a friend in Tamale from Ottawa canada. Her passport expired last month. What does she have to do to come home to canada.

Hello Charles. There is no good news. Many airlines will not even let someone board a flight with documentation that is out of date. She will have to find the closest Canadian Embassy and start the passport approval process there.

How long will it take one to receive a medical letter from the embassy of canada in Accra for permanent residenc after you’ve received a letter since November 3rd 2015 stating that your application in process?

Hello Osondu. The process will take a minimum of six months. As you can imagine, the busier the embassy is, the longer the reply will take.

    Hello,
Please, I am applying for a canadian visa online. I have able to download all the necessary documents have to submit online with the exception of the IMM 5257. I have tried all possible means to download it online but it is not going through. What should I do? Is there a way out? Can I submit my application personally?
Please I need an answer urgently

      Hello Beatrice,

Perhaps you could try using a different computer which may have the necessary functionalities to submit the IMM5257. Please let us know if you require any further assistance.

      Regards,
      Owen
