Immigrating to Canada from Australia

If you are from Australia and want to immigrate to Canada, you can do so a number of ways. In addition, as an Australian you have an advantage, because being from an English-speaking country means that you can much more easily make the transition to Canadian society than people from other countries. However, you will need to determine what kind of method you want to use to come to Canada.

There are many different ways for you to come to Canada, whether temporarily or permanently. For example, you could apply to obtain a visitor visa, a study permit or a work permit, and some of these visas can result in a more permanent form of immigration later on.

You could also apply for permanent residence in the first place, using a number of different immigration streams that are available to foreign nationals. You may be able to go through one of many categories, including family or spousal sponsorship, the Canadian Experience Class, Quebec-selected skilled workers and business people, provincial nominee programs, business immigration, skilled trades and skilled worker streams.
