Hi, this is Michael Niren, Immigration Lawyer and founder of visaplace.com. Recently former Florida Governor Jeb Bush made a statement that was quite controversial. He basically said illegal immigrants are coming to the United States out of an act of love for their families.
US Illegal Immigrants Come As ‘Act of Love’
This is a very rare admission by a public figure, who obviously understands that immigrants or people coming to the United States to cross the borders, are not coming just to steal jobs or to cause trouble, but rather to be reunited with their families.
I think this was an admission by a public official that was a breath of fresh air. Now of course, the United States has a duty to protect its borders, to regulate immigration and to ensure that applicants coming through the border, do so legally.

So the statement that Mr. Bush made, for a public official, was a little bit extreme. But I’m going to give him a pass because hearing an acknowledgement that there are reasons beyond what many politicians say for individuals coming across the borders; that being to steal jobs, etc. Some more legitimate reasons like family reunification.
It’s nice to hear that a public official is actually stating that. So I’m going to give a thumbs up to Jeb Bush and hopefully this raises awareness by everybody that immigration is more than just a threat to American workers.
