Metal band The Atlas Moth was denied entry to Canada this week, upon trying to enter Canada to play several shows across the country. 
According to Metal Underground, the band released a statement.
“Unfortunately, the Canadian border is not letting us in. We will meet up with the tour again in Seattle. This is out of our control and we apologize to everyone that was coming out to these shows to see us. This does not necessarily reflect what will be happening for our Toronto and Montreal dates in Feb.”
According to the band’s Facebook page, The Atlas Moth has previously visited Canada three times without any issues, but someone has an arrest that is currently not older than five years. As of yesterday, the arrest has 19 days to go which is why the band has said that the Toronto and Montreal tour dates (later in February) will not be affected.
However, if someone is denied entry to Canada for criminal reasons they could be eligible to apply for a Temporary Resident Permit (TRP) if their arrest is not older than five years. If someone’s criminal record or the original offense is older than five years, they could be eligible to apply for criminal rehabilitation.
