Las Vegas is the most populous city in the U.S. state of Nevada and the county seat of Clark County. Las Vegas is an internationally renowned major resort city known primarily for gambling, shopping, fine dining, and nightlife and is the leading financial and cultural center for Southern Nevada. The city bills itself as The Entertainment Capital of the World, and is famous for its consolidated casino–hotels and associated entertainment. A growing retirement and family city, Las Vegas is the 31st-most populous city in the United States, with a population at the 2010 census of 583,756. The 2010 population of the Las Vegas metropolitan area was 1,951,269. Today, Las Vegas is one of the top tourist destinations in the world.
Every year Las Vegas receives an estimated thirty-six million visitors from what is considered ordinary America. However, an increasingly large number of people are finding Las Vegas as the perfect place to take up residence, and a large proportion of these are international immigrants.
In Las Vegas, someone with little or no job skills can live a good, middle-class life. As a result of the city’s steady economy, one can usually find a job that pays a decent wage that quickly leads to owning a home and eventually leading to leaving a better future for one’s children. In fact, despite all the pronouncements of Las Vegas’ demise, it has retained most of its population growth from the decade. American work visas, which are best handled by experienced Las Vegas immigration attorneys, are a popular way for immigrants to arrive to the city.
Under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the doors have been opened for Canadians and businesses seeking to enter the US markets. As a result, US Work Visa applications for Canadian businesses and professionals are now being accepted through a streamlined process.

The primary drivers of the Las Vegas economy are tourism, gaming, and conventions, which in turn feed the retail and restaurant industries. The major attractions in Vegas are the casinos and the hotels. Most of the hotel casinos are in the city’s downtown area, which has been the focal point of the city’s gaming industry since its early days.
Las Vegas got its start with casinos in 1931 with the opening of the Northern Club (now the La Bayou). The most notable of the early casinos may have been Binion’s Horseshoe (now Binion’s Gambling Hall and Hotel) while it was run by Benny Binion. Boyd Gaming has a major presence downtown operating the California Hotel and Casino, Fremont Hotel and Casino and the Main Street Casino.
