US visa applications have been hindered over the past week after the US State Department’s central computer system used to process passport and visa requests crashed, reducing its operational capacity.
In fact, the German soccer legend Rummenigge, 58, was forced to stay out of the United States along with six other players due to visa issues while the rest of the team jetted out from Bavaria. Along with the stranded players, some members of the media and the team’s own camera crew were unable to enter the United States.
The issue is not isolated; delays are being faced by people from all around the world as the US Bureau of Consulate Affairs attempts to catch up.
