Success Story: Photographer Gets Working Holiday Visa

Success Story

I lived in Chile but was interested in spending time traveling and working in Canada but I had not yet received any job offers. I had contacted VisaPlace in hopes they could help guide me in the right direction. Sure enough, VisaPlace helped me apply for a working holiday visa and get my open work permit! I’ve been traveling through Canada for the last 6 months expanding my photography business and loving every minute of it. Thank you VisaPlace!

Working Holiday Visa Success Story

Background:

Vicente was born and raised in Chile his entire life until age 20. Throughout his schooling he picked up photography as a hobby and after graduating high school he wanted to pursue it as a career. Once Vicente turned 20 he wanted to travel to expand his photography career and choose Canada for its welcoming immigration, cities, and diverse landscapes. Thankfully Canada has a visa that helps Vicente work and travel in Canada.

Immigration Situation:

When Vicente came to VisaPlace looking for help to immigrate to Canada as a freelancing photographer, we had to assess his wants and needs before finding the best visa for him. The Working Holiday Visa was the best option for Vicente. The Working Holiday Visa allows those between ages 18-35 to stay in Canada for up to 12 months to travel and work temporarily to pay for those travels. This allows Vicente to travel Canada to photograph but also be able to sell his photographs to pay for his stay in Canada. With this visa, it also allows him to temporarily work at a Canadian company during his stay as well.

Solution:

Applying for the Working Holiday visa there are several requirements that Vicente had to have for us to apply for him. He needed at least $2,500 CAD to cover his expenses in Canada. Vicente also needed a Chilean passport, a round trip ticket, health insurance during his stay, and pay the application fee. VisaPlace was able to help organize the documents he needed to apply.

Outcome:

Vicente’s Working Holiday Visa was approved by Immigration Canada Citizenship Refugee (IRCC) in March 2018. He first arrived in Quebec in June 2018 and started his 12 month journey of exploring Canada and his self-employed photography career. Vicente said he plans on continuing his 12 months here in Canada then may travel to the US after that. VisaPlace will help Vicente with his visitor visa for the United States when the time comes.

This is not an exaggeration!!! I was truly impressed with the way VisaPlace consultants handled my case. The consultants- Emily, Lauren, Takunda and Lisa, took their time to explain to me in great deal how they were going to approach my case and how they would handle setbacks, if any. Their professionalism and knowledge of the law were superb. The minor setback that came up was quickly addressed by the team. The team constantly kept me updated on the progress/status of my application; they quickly responded to my questions/concerns. They had predicated my permanent residency to be processed within 6 -12, and Indeed it was processed and completed within 6 months. Based on my personal experience, Emily and Lauren's team are the best! They deserve 5 stars!!!!!!!!!!!

VisaPlace helped me sponsor my husband to become a Permanent Resident of Canada. They were extremely professional. Every step along the way was explained fully and expertly taken care of. The staff responded immediately to any questions and always handled our concerns fully, taking as much time as we needed to understand where we were at in the immigration process and what to expect next. I would recommend VisaPlace with no hesitation at all. I'm sure if we had tried to navigate the immigration process ourselves, it would have been much harder.
