Changes to the Express Entry Application Deadline 2018

ITA Deadline Change

What has changed about the application deadline?

On June 26, 2018 the IRCC made a decision to change the Express Entry permanent deadline application from 90 days to only 60 days. This means that candidates who receive an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence after June 26, 2018 will only have 60 days to complete and turn in their electronic application. Those who have received their ITA before June 26, 2018 will still have 90 days to complete the application.

How does the deadline change affect me?

Candidates are advised to have their paperwork in order so that an application can be submitted as soon as possible after receiving an Express Entry Invitation to Apply.

The change means candidates have a third less time to perfect their applications after receiving an ITA.

This will ideally allow the process for individuals who have sent in an application for permanent residence become faster.
