More Canadians are being denied entry to the US after the events of September 11, 2001 because of heightened security restrictions.
According to this Metro News article, one man has had to cancel vacations and business trips after being denied entry to the US, despite traveling there a number of times before.
One point mentioned in the article is that the once-friendly unguarded border is now just as regulated and secure as any other, with the US treating Canada as they would any other nation.
In addition, Canadian travel officials reference the United States’ no-fly list for their own purposes. This results in Canadians being banned from travel to the United States, as well as having difficulties traveling via plane throughout Canada.
People who have been denied entry to the US have options, and should speak to a licensed immigration lawyer.
