Canadian Actor Chad Rock barred from United States for five years

According to Yahoo News, a Canadian actor who has appeared on the hit television series Supernatural was trying to cross the US-Canada border and ended up with a five-year ban from the United States along with being denied entry to the United States. Supernatural Actor Chad Rook

The actor, Chad Rook, says that he was crossing into the United States to visit for three months while his new show, The Cult, premiered as well as to network and audition. He says that if he were to book an audition he would then apply for a work permit.

Supernatural actor Chad Rook denied entry to the United States

This is unfortunately not unusual for actors who want to enter the United States or Canada to audition for work. It recently happened to an MTV star who was trying to enter Canada for similar reasons.

Rook says he was detained at the border and asked questions repeatedly for nine hours about his intentions in the United States, having to provide border officers with his passwords to his emails and social networking sites before being told he was banned from the United States for five years for not providing enough information upfront about his intentions for going to the United States. This is a fraud and misrepresentation ban – but a week later, the United States customs officials changed their story and said he was attempting to work in the United States without a visa.

According to the United States customs and border officials, the actor was intending to live in the United States and find work. The visa for established actors who need to work in the United States is the O-1 visa, which Rook says he was in the process of getting.

The story is picking up traction on a number of major news outlets, so hopefully Rook can have the ban lifted and resume his career – it is not illegal to enter the United States to explore opportunities.

I had an excellent experience working with Visa Place, communicating with them was very easy. I initially tried to navigate my immigration issue personally, but it was much more efficient allowing everything to be handled by the experts. Thank you so much Sarah, Lauren, Natasha, and Sukhi for all of your help!
