Migrate from Malaysia to Canada

The number of people migrating from Malaysia to Canada has also increased significantly over the years. Recent statistics show that by the year 2013, one half of the total Canadian population will be foreign-born. To understand this recent trend, it is important to look at why people decide to move to Canada from Malaysia.

Why people migrate from Malaysia to Canada

As the Canadian economy continues to grow, the demand for skilled and professional workers also increases. This does not necessarily mean that the locals are unskilled for the job but the inclusion of foreigners creates an interactive platform where people from different nations can share ideas based on their specialization, thus boosting the economy of this country.
The other reason why people migrate from Malaysia to Canada is the fact that Canada has set up considerate immigration laws to welcome different types of immigrants into the country. According to these laws, the country recognizes four major types of immigration options.

Family class

These are the type of immigrants who enter Canada to reunite with their families living in this country.

Economical immigrants

These are professional workers and business personalities who migrate to Canada to offer their skills in different industries.

Others

This category is meant for people who migrate to Canada due to compassionate or humanitarian reasons.

Refugees

This category is meant for people running away from their original homeland due to social conflicts, war, torture, violence and other acts of human rights violation.
With the high number of foreign immigrants moving to Canada, most people do not feel like they are in a strange country. It is very easy to find friends or even relatives residing in Canada thus giving the visitors a chance to feel at home away from their real home.

The immigration laws of Canada also allow visitors for vacation or educational reasons. They also accept permanent residents to change their citizenship to Canadian regardless of their country of origin by following a specific protocol.

Why you need an immigration lawyer to migrate from Malaysia to Canada

A good immigration lawyer helps you overcome any legal issue that might be staged to challenge the credibility of your immigration to Canada and also take you through the application process. You may not be well versed with every clause of the immigration law and if you do not follow them keenly, you might have to face some legal implications that can be settled by a lawyer.

This lawyer will also be of great help to you especially if you are new in Canada and you want advice and more information on how to live in the country without breaking the law. The lawyer is meant to be your trusted advisor as you migrate from Malaysia to Canada to become a permanent resident.

Hi, do we need to secure a job first before starting the migration process? Seems like a chicken and egg situation. Most jobs requires some sort of guarantee that applicants are eligible to get a work permit or a citizen.
Can we apply for a work permit before getting a job offer?
    Thanks.

    Hi Sir,
I’m Fadzillah, married with 1 adopted son aged 3. Husband and I are both 33 yo. We plan to migrate to Canada; Vancouver to be specific. I’m an engineer (graduated from local University) with 10 years experience in oil and gas industry, while my husband is a government doctor with 8 years experience. He’s currently pursuing his master in family medicine with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, expected to complete end of next year.

    Questions are:
    1) Any restrictions for professional workers to find suitable jobs in Canada?
    2) Our qualifications; are they recognized by Canadian government?
    3) My adopted son who was offered to us by Malaysian Social Welfare Department, is neither Malaysian nor holding any citizenships from any countries. He’s status is unfortunately stateless. We have actually applied for Malaysian citizenship, but is yet to get approval from Malaysian government. The process might take years to complete. Will there be any problem for him to obtain PR status from Canadian government? What should be we do to apply for it?

As for now, those would be my queries to you Sir. Thanks in advance for the response.

Hello Benson. Two great options that you may want to consider are a study visa, or a work visa. For a study visa you will need an acceptance letter from a Canadian education institution, and for a work visa you will need a job offer from a Canadian employer. You can check http://www.monster.ca and http://www.indeed.ca for online job postings.

    Hi,

I was contacted by a recruiter which offer me a job as an Electrical Engineer in Ottawa. The overall package was extremely good and I can even say its too good to be true. Based on the employment letter from the recruiter firm, there is one condition that I need to fulfill which hold me back, it is the fees of USD550 which according to them is for Acceptance Fee and Job Invitation Certificate which i will use to apply for Canada Visa in my country. I have no idea of how to verify the information either it is true or not.
I am thinking to go to Canada embassy for advice, but if u have any information about acceptance fee and job invitation certificate, kindly share with me.

    Thanks.

Hello Taqiuddin. The fees that you are writing about do not sound like immigration fees. Is the recruiter a licensed immigration professional? Best that you do your homework to see if everything is legitimate.

Hello Philip. Thank you for writing to us. From what you have written, your chances look to be very good. The Express Entry program is a points based selections system for permanent residency, and the points required to be selected are at an all time low, but it will not stay like that for long. Hello Sharizal. Your strongest option for you and your family to get to Canada is to get a job offer from a Canadian employer in Canada. The oil and gas industry is very big in Canada. You will have to find a job on your own; we cannot help you with your job search. There are many Canadian online job sites that you can explore. Once you have a job offer, you can contact us and we will be able to help you obtain the work visa that you need.
