How to Sponsor a Canadian Citizen to the USA

(Below is a transcription of this video)

Hello. My name is Michael Niren. I’m founder of, an immigration lawyer. This is a message for Canadian citizens who have a relationship with an American and wish to be sponsored there, wish to immigrate to the United States.

Sponsoring a Canadian Citizen to the USA

If you are married to an American, there’s a possibility that the American spouse can sponsor you or petition for you for immigration, and there’s a number of processes that could work for you. There’s what we call the consular process where an application is sent through the Canadian Consulate. If you live on the East Coast, it’s through Montreal, or there’s the in-United States or justice status process where you are already in the United States, and an application can be made through a service center in the United States.

Are You Interested in Sponsoring a Canadian Citizen to the USA?

Each process has their own pros and cons. We have a U.S. immigration team who specialize in U.S. sponsorships for Canadians. So if you’re interested in moving to the United States through the sponsorship process, give us a
call or send us an email. You can also go to our website at, and we’ll be happy to discuss your options.

Thank you, and have a great day!
