Helen has worked in the area of immigration law for over 25 years.  She has extensive experience in various immigration matters that include permanent residence, study permits, visitor visas, temporary resident permits, permanent residence through family sponsorship and Canadian citizenship, humanitarian and compassionate applications, labour market impact assessments and free trade agreement work permits, as well contentious issues dealing with inadmissibility.   Given her experience, Helen is able to assist clients in navigating both permanent and temporary options for Canadian immigration and develop the right strategy for her clients.

Prior to joining VP, Helen worked at a boutique law firm practicing exclusively in the area of corporate immigration law for 12 years. She handled matters relating to Canadian immigration law and NAFTA/Free Trade Agreement. She assisted multinational companies in the finance, consumer goods, food processing, high-tech, consulting, and engineering industries. She also assisted with clients with obtaining work permits for business and professional opportunities in Canada. She has significant experience handling Express Entry applications and provincial nominations. Helen has the ability to serve clients in both English and Spanish.

Outside of work, Helen volunteers with the Canadian Chihuahua Rescue and Transport and Habitat for Humanity.  After focusing on her family and career, Helen is now in the pursuit of higher education.

Helen graduated from Humber College with an honours certificate in Immigration Consultant and Legal Assistant Diploma from Herzing College.  She has taken various English literature courses at the University of Toronto. She is a licenced immigration consultant. She is currently finalizing her Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in English, as well as a post-graduate certificate in Business Administration from York University.    

Helen currently serves as the Team Leader for Visaplace’s affiliate Niren and Associates (MHNPC).
