Hamilton is a port city in the Canadian province of Ontario. Conceived by George Hamilton when he purchased the Durand farm shortly after the War of 1812, Hamilton has become the centre of a densely populated and industrialized region at the west end of Lake Ontario known as the Golden Horseshoe.
Census data from Statistics Canada shows the city’s population grew 3.1 per cent to 519,949 in the five years up to 2011. That’s about 15,000 more residents than the 504,559 population in 2006.
It is likely that some of the growth was driven by Toronto and GTA residents and businesses relocating because of Hamilton’s lower cost of living and costs of doing business and good quality of life.
The population growth described above is driven mostly by immigrants. Two-thirds of the growth in the Hamilton Census Metropolitan Area — a larger area than the city which includes Burlington and Grimsby — came from immigration.
Across Canada, access to skilled workers has become an important and growing challenge. In recent studies, almost 50% of surveyed companies reported that their skilled trades workers will be retiring in the next 15 years. Moreover, 40% of surveyed organizations expect to face a skilled trades shortage in less than five years.
This makes an ideal situation for people from abroad who want to immigrate to Hamilton, Canada, especially through Skilled Worker Applications.

“My wife and I have to say a great big thank you to Niren and Associates for helping us easily transition into living together in Canada. Our superb legal assistant Amy Shen guided us through every step of the visitor visa application. From the first gathering of documents to the final application package, Amy was the consummate professional leading us through every step. When we received my visitor visa, I was delighted to learn that I had been granted an even longer stay than I had requested. The visitor visa will allow me to continue living with my wife in Toronto while I await final word on my family class permanent residency application (that is also being wonderfully handled by Niren and Associates). The most recent good news is that CIC expects to finalize my application without an interview. I cannot imagine the process being this smooth without the help of the best immigration law firm around. Thank you! With Gratitude.”
“Hi Danielle, My trip to the USA last week went very smoothly. I had none of the hassle that I encountered on my previous trips. Thank you to Irene, you and Michael for paving the way with your documentation and contact with US border officials.”
“Dear Shabnam, You are really a best lawyer in the country. I told my wife about you (she is Afghan). She said she is proud of you:) Thank you for working hard on this case for the work permit.”
