Will my time in Canada before becoming a Permanent Resident count towards my Citizenship application?

Generally no it won’t. Your physical presence in Canada as Canadian Permanent Resident will count but not before. There are some exceptions to this rule. Citizenship law can be somewhat complicated. Make sure you document all the days you are in Canada before applying for citizenship to prove your physical presence in Canada.
