Seeking Political Asylum After Immigration Denial

What are my next steps after receiving refusal of immigration? I had applied to come into Canada for Political Asylum due to the out break of violence that has spread through Eastern Africa. My attorney says that he had done all that he could but, I suspect that he did nothing to begin with it and simply took my money under a false notion. I desperately need to leave for the safety of my family.

After a refused refugee application you can appeal to the Refugee Appeal Division at the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB).

    The Refugee Appeal Division:

    – gives most claimants a chance to prove that the Refugee Protection Division decision was wrong in fact or law or both

    – lets new evidence be introduced that was not reasonably available at the time of the Refugee Protection Division process

The appeal must be paper-based, with oral hearings in exceptional cases.

The appeal is done by Governor in Council (GIC) appointees.

Decisions on most appeals are expected within 90 days unless an oral hearing is required.

So depending on when you were refused and whether or not you are within 90 days, this may be an option for you.

Not to mention the many other ways you may be able to enter Canada. Contact us and we can provide you with a detailed action plan that best serves your needs.
