    Yes. Serious Criminality can render you inadmissible to Canada. Most “indictable” offences even DUIs and assault charges can result in a finding of inadmissibility. If this is the case, you may need to apply for a Temporary Resident Permit (TRP) to overcome your inadmissibly.

    TRPs are not easy to get. You have to show that despite you criminal record, you are deserving to be admitted to Canada. TRPs can take months and months to process so apply well in advance.
