I was wondering, am I able to apply for Permanent Resident status as well as temporary status (Work Permit/Study Permit/Temporary Resident Visa) at the same time?

    Technically you can do this. However, there is something called the “doctrine of dual intent” which means that your application for your TRV (Temporary resident visa) could be refused because you have expressed your permanent intent by virtue of applying for immigration. To overcome this problem you have to show your ties to your home country and that you will not overstay your temporary visa while waiting for your immigration application to be processed. Not easy.
