Will an expired PR hinder my chances of getting a regular job in Canada
Asked by: sboc
Dear Sir, I am a Canadian PR. My PR will be expiring in April 2014 (after 3 M). My wife & 2 children have been living in Canada for the past 4 years & are planning to apply for citizenship immediately. The tenant agreement of the apartment where my family lives in Canada is in my name. All the utility bills etc are in my name too. I am a regular taxpayer of Canada. Now, I am planning to return to Canada in March, 1 month before my PR expires (I have not stayed for the min.730 days in Canada & hence will not be eligible to apply for PR renewal). I am sales & marketing professional & upon my return will be focussing in AL, ON provinces for my employment.
My questions are:
1) Will an expired PR hinder my chances of getting a regular job in Canada i.e. will employers ask for a valid PR before they offer a job to an applicant like me?
2) Will I still be able to apply for a driving license with a expired PR?
