Does entering the U.S. illegally twice, once for asylum, ( the enteries are over 10 years apart)disqualify me from immigrating to Canada? I haven’t been with my family for almost two years. I just want to be with my wife and child.

    Dear Mark,

Your U.S. immigration law violations do not necessarily prevent you from coming to Canada unless you have criminal convictions. If your family is in Canada and you would like to apply for a visa to visit them, you may do so. Please consult with a qualified immigration lawyer to better assess your situation.

    Thank you.
