Canada Denying Lots of Super Visa Applications

Canada Denying Super VisaIn spring of this 2012, the Canadian Government put the family sponsorship of parents and grandparents on pause, but at the same time introduced the Super Visa – a 10 year, multiple entry visa that parents and grandparents could use to come to Canada for two years at a time. However, multiple media outlets are reporting that many of these Super Visa applications are being rejected.

Super Visa Applications Rejected

Many people in Canada had been waiting for years to sponsor their parents or grandparents to come to Canada, but a huge backlog meant it felt like nothing would ever get approved. Many were relieved to hear about the Super Visa.

Applicants must meet certain requirements as well as pay for their own health care to apply for a Super Visa.

Concerning Super Visa Factors

Once concerning factor is that there are reports of visa officers limiting people’s visits to six or nine months – despite the fact that Citizenship and Immigration Canada had said the visas are good for two years at a time. About 23 per cent of the Super Visa applications are being refused, compared to about 20 per cent of temporary resident permits.

The Toronto Star reported that one person was told their insufficient ties to their home country and the length of their visit to Canada were the reasons they were denied.

    Hi
My mum got a super visa in 2011/2012(?) and since then she has been traveled to visit us every few years, 3-6 months at most. Now I want her to stay with us for 2 years, is it possible? does she need to re-do the supervisa?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I just want to know that if a tourist visa is denied, can we file a Super visa immediately after that

Hello Neha. You will need to address the issue that caused the denial for the tourist visa. The tourist visa and the super visa are very similar in that they are temporary resident visas. Hi I want to apply for my mom’s super visa but the problem is that our recent year income does not meet the required income threshold because I was not working last year but this year I have started my job and now we meet the required income threshold. My question is that can we apply now using our last year low income and showing new pay stubs or do we have to wait for new tax return report? Please help

I have applied visitor visa for my mother 3 times and all were refused based on the fact the she has no ties to her home country (India) and no travel history. I live in Canada and really needed the help of my mother as i was pregnant.

After the 3 rejections i have little to no hope in the process. I am thinking of applying for super visa but i fear that may also be rejected. Is there any thing you guys can suggest i do in order to bring my mother here.

    Any suggestions please

Hello Meet. Thank you for writing to us. It must be very frustrating for you and your mother, having the visa refused so many times. A visitor visa is one of the most difficult to obtain because the reviewing officer needs to make 100% certain that you will return home after your visit. Many people who attempt to apply on their own, face the same problem as you. Hello Mantej. As long as you are a Canadian citizen, and you still have residency in Canada, you should not have any issue that prevents you from inviting your Mother on a supervisa. hi

My mother’s super visa application was refused citing weak ties ties to home country and not sufficient funds. But in GMS note they mentioned i qualify under super visa as a invitee. Now i am planning to re-apply for my mother. So i would like to render your services. But i would like to know what will be the fees for the services and what are my option. I already have filled up application by myself.

I applied for super visa for my mum in Nigeria & was surprised I got a refusal letter from Ghana saying, I did not include medical insurance. As a matter of fact, I included medical insurance in the online application, I am not sure why the visa officer did not see the insurance.
Kindly advise on what next to do

I am a Canadian citizen and living in USA for work temporarily on TN status. I want to sponsor my parents on Super visa category in Canada and I want to meet my parents in Canada since I have lot of relatives in Ontario, Canada. Are my parents eligible to apply for Parent Super Visa while I have no Canadian address (physically not present in Canada) and telephone number?

I highly appreciate your help. Many Thanks.

Hello Arup. The person who is applying for the sponsorship must have an address in Canada. You would have to take care of this before you submit the application for the Super Visa. You may want to consider a Visitor Visa for them instead. Is it possible to apply a super visa for my mother now and then next year
“2017 ” sponsor her for permanent residency? I mean is it possible that holding a super visa leads to a less chance or even a refusal in a parent sponsored permanent residency?

Hello Eli. Yes you can apply for a super visa for your mother now and then next year apply for a parental sponsorship. There is no conflict. Hi,
I have been planning to start the super visa application process for my parents. I meet all the criteria but still have one confusion that is holding me up from applying therefore I would highly appreciate if my question is answered.

My father is a retired banker and my mother is a house wife. I provide total financial support to my parents, other than that my parents have their monthly rental income from a property they own back home. My father does not maintain any bank statement for himself that he can submit with the application.

This is one of the requirement in the checklist form “Proof of Financial Support. You must include proof that you can support yourself and any family members accompanying you while you are in Canada.”

I’ll be providing my financial status as part of the super visa sponsor application, would that be sufficient if I explicitly mention in the letter that I provide financial support to my parents and my father does not submit any bank statements from his side?

I would highly appreciate your response on this.

    Thanks,
    Bilal.

Hello Bilal. Your concerns are well founded. Any mistake, error, omission, that you make on your application will delay and even get you a denial on your application. Every denial will stay on your permanent record and have to be addressed when you apply for any type of immigration matter. Yesterday,My mother in-law attended immigration interview with Canadian High commission in Lagos Nigeria for the Super Visa application we filed for her last year. She was denied visa on the ground of her work as Police officer in Nigeria because of the position she held in the Police force before she retired. She has since retired from the police force, more than 8 yrs. ago. I needed her help because we have for 4 kids and my wife is studying medicine outside of Canada (in the States). I am the only one taking care of the kids with a full time Job, I don’t understand why they will deny her the visa on the ground of the job she did in the past as police officer. Please do you have any advice for me for any next line of action I could consider on this case. Someone told me that once the Super visa is denied, it cannot be appealed.
